This is Cal Berkeley Democrats.

Our mission is to promote progressive politics - both within the Democratic Party, and the several diverse communities we exist in. It is to make the United States a more inclusive, equal nation - one that is free of racial and political divides. And finally, it is to ensure that good governance permeates all sections of American life - governance that unites and empowers each and every one of us.

It’s a simple but powerful idea: We are stronger together.

“If a free society cannot help the many who are poor, it cannot save the few who are rich.”

John F. KENNEDY | 35th US PRESIDENT

Cal Dems won the Chapter of the Year award in 2011 for our enormous efforts to elect Democrats in the 2010 election.

In the last four years, the club has hosted California Secretary of State Debra Bowen, California Attorney General Kamala Harris, California Lieutenant Governor Gavin Newsom, Former Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley, as well as Berkeley’s Assemblywoman Nancy Skinner and State Senator Loni Hancock, among several others.
