Cal Berkeley Democrats

Who We Are

Cal Berkeley Democrats is Berkeley's official Democratic Party student group. We were founded in 1960 by a young sophomore named Bill Lockyer who now serves as California's Attorney General. We are dedicated on continuing our efforts to increase the participation of college students in Democratic Party affairs. We educate and train our members to better inform others about the political issues facing our city, state, and nation.
